Film: Knowing

wackymandaI watched a film called Knowing tonight. (Spoilers below.)

It was really intriguing, with thisrather strange girl 50 years ago who wrote a load of numbers and they got put in the school's time capsule. Fast forward 50 years, and a boy gets given her envelope to open and finds these. The dad is intrigued and eventually realises that they are dates of disasters, the number of people killed and the location.
Lots of stuff is happening, I'm finding it quite tense and wanting to know how they're going to stop this last major disaster.
And then it turned absolutely rubbish for the conclusion!!!
The son and some other girl get saved by glowy aliens and taken to a new planet to start again.
Everyone else dies.
OMG, such a terrible end to what had seemed like such a promising film. *shakes head*
